Home, Sweet Home...

I am back home for the long weekend. It always feels so nice to be home away from the city, not to say that I do not love New York for all that it has to offer. Both places are bittersweet - when I'm home for a while, I want NY.. when I'm in Manhattan, I want home. Lately, since school has ended, I have gotten the perfect balance of both worlds. Here is a bit of home to share with you...

A Sheerful Scare.

Sheer tops are all the rage this season, including mesh and lace varieties. I found this image and thought it was the most interesting and cool use of sheer I have seen of this trend. The body silhouettes holding umbrellas makes the print pretty cool as it is, but the addition of the single skeleton faced man looking at us makes the entire scene even better. This printed sheer top makes me want to DIM (do-it-myself) with a block print and fabric paint. Hmmm... I just might have to!

Sony's Sci-Fi Creation?

I showed this video of a proto-type Sony roller screen to my dad and he told me that it is science fiction to him. But I guess if you saw the television in its earliest days compared to current digital media sources, what is happening today would be considered "science fiction." I thought it was quite amazing myself and hope that Sony decides to actually go through with the idea and manufacture it.

Tea Time

I was just browsing Anthropologie home and came across this adorable "One-Lump-or-Two" lamp. It reminded me of my favorite Upper East Side brunch spot - Alice's Tea Cup - where I went just this afternoon with a few friends! My favorite part of the lamp is the tea cup that pops out of the lampshade on top. Thought I'd share for all you tea lovers like myself:
